We'll be performing arrangements from wide-ranging folk traditions, collaborating with Solidarity Notes Labour choir, under the direction of Earle Peach, and a professional accompanying world music band/orchestra, we will highlight the songs that connect people in times of strife.
The Vancouver Peace Choir has a long tradition of performing high calibre choral music in collaboration with highly trained classical and world music artists. All of our concerts focus on building conscientious and peaceful communities. For this concert, our choir of trained singers will continue to collaborate towards this peaceful mission by exploring a different artistic tradition with new and familiar partners.
The performance of folk songs will engage different audiences, and allow collaborations with First Nations and folk artists in Vancouver to explore the richness of varied folk traditions from around the world.
Both Earth Day and folk music have a rich history of bringing together people from many cultures and walks of life with calls for action and change. Through our tribute to Canadian culture, peace and the Earth, the Vancouver Peace Choir aims to offer a unique and inspiring musical experience for all.
