On Saturday, April 13th, 2019, the parade will embark on its annual tradition from the KDS Ross Sikh Temple. This event has quickly grown in popularity throughout the years, becoming a yearly tradition.
Vaisakhi marks the beginning of the harvest season in India. In addition, it marks the birth of Khalsa in 1699.
Taking place from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., join the entire South Asian community and partake in the walk of life. It’s an amazing opportunity to see metro Vancouver’s diversity and learn about our neighbours.
The parade will leave the Main Temple from Ross Street at 11:00 a.m. and reach Punjabi Market (Main & 49th avenue) at 1:30 p.m.
Not to mention, you can expect plenty of music and entertainment throughout the event. Local restaurants and businesses will be handing out free food throughout the day.
Free food cooked by community members in the spirit of "Langar" and a communal meal. Celebration of the birth of Khalsa & the beginning of the harvest season in Punjab.
