Latin American Heritage Month features a series of events celebrating Latin music, food, art and culture

During that period there are 38 shows, 17 events, 4 exhibitions, and 5 workshops with over 160 participating artists.
Presented by Latincouver, Latin American Heritage Month is an annual series of events in the City of Vancouver. The festival celebrates Latin culture with numerous events at different locations in October, plus a couple of days in November.
2023 marks the festival’s fifth anniversary. There are traditional ceremonies, interactive workshops, exhibitions and other events for all to enjoy.

One of the main venues for Latin American Heritage Month is the Ocean Art Works Pavilion.

- October 6th to November 2nd:
1) Latin American Costumes Exhibition .
2) Altar Dia de los Muertos Exhibition – Day of the Dead altars at the Ocean Art Works Pavilion.
3) Guatemalan Barriletes Kites Exhibition – at the Ocean Art Works Pavilion.
- October 10th to 24th:
LAHM Art & Exhibition – at the Centre of International Contemporary Art at 228 Abbott Street in Vancouver.

LAHM Opening Ceremony and Brazilian Night – the festival kicks off with music and dance performances at 5:00 pm at Ocean Art Works.
- Thursday, October 12th, 2023
Seniors Day – honouring elders and the roots of the community at 68 Water Street (Unit 406) starting at 2:00 pm.
- Friday, October 13th, 2023
LAHM Concert: Aterciopelados – the folk-rock group performs at 8:00 pm at the Centre for Performing Arts at 777 Homer Street.
- Sunday, October 15th, 2023
KIDS Connecting Our Roots Workshop – Carmen Keitsch teaches participants how to make their own Papel Picados at Ocean Art Works at 1:00 pm.

Literature Workshop – an online Zoom workshop at 5:00 pm led by Silvana Goldemberg and other Latin American writers.
- Wednesday, October 18th, 2023
Culinary Workshop – an online Zoom session at 5:00 pm with Cecilia Torres. Participants learn how to make Ceviche Peruano.
- Thursday, October 19th, 2023
Mesoamerican Pottery Workshop – learn all about clay and decoration techniques at Ocean Art Works starting at 5:00 pm.

Painting Workshop – a past and present art workshop at 5:00 pm led by Ari de la Mora at the Centre of International Contemporary Art at 228 Abbott Street in Vancouver.
