World Food Day Sustenance Celebration
Sustenance Festival is a city-wide community festival that celebrates and shares local land, water and food-inspired workshops and events in public spaces throughout Vancouver. Public events run at community centres, neighbourhood houses, and other sites across Vancouver throughout October and November. Since 2009, the city-wide festival has provided a unique platform locally and internationally that holds space to explore the emerging issues around land, waters and food in our world and our unique and often complicated relationships to sustenance. This year’s theme explores the vibrancy and complexities of immigrant and diasporic experiences within our local context of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.
