2025 Vancouver Writers Festival

The 38th annual Vancouver Writers Fest takes place from October 20–26, 2025, featuring a scintillating lineup of exceptional books, ideas, and dialogue in 87 events.

Our 2025 Festival Guest Curator is the brilliant, multi-award-winning poet and novelist Canisia Lubrin. She has curated four events for us in a program called Cycling and Renewal for the Earth, taking an approach based on the idea(l) of literature’s unique ability to broaden the scope of dialogue between people—and that this, in turn, can fortify the work of cultures, institutions, and literature itself.

The events at this year’s Festival will explore the issues and themes dominating the cultural and political sphere, that would benefit from deeper examination and understanding. They’ll spark reflection, curiosity, and laughter. Most of all, they’ll offer an opportunity to hear from some of the finest authors working today, and discover new books that deserve a place on your shelf.
