Step into the artist studio and connect with artist in residence James Groening (aka Blue Sky). You are invited to explore works from across Turtle Island, engage in teachings and discover a space rooted in storytelling, community and truth sharing.
About James Groening
Based in New Westminster and a member of Kahkewistahaw Band, Groening’s work is rooted in his personal story—growing up disconnected from his culture during the Sixties Scoop and later rediscovering his identity through art. Inspired by Coast Salish and Northwest Coast forms, his practice reflects a powerful journey of reconnection and expression.

This event is part of a weekend long celebration of arts, culture and heritage across the Peninsula. Elgin Heritage Park, where Totest Aleng is situated, will be vibrantly activated by Arts Council of Surrey with additional activities happening at Historic Stewart Farm.
