Discover the Stories Hidden in the Korean Language!
An Interactive Reading Performance: K-Story Hunters
If KPop Demon Hunters has three hunters, Vancouver has its own three K-Story Hunters—setting out to discover the stories, sounds, and rhythms hidden in the Korean language.
Meet acclaimed Korean voice actors Hye-jung Seo and Deok-hee Choi, and poet Eun-sil Hur.
Their journey begins with the myth of Seolmundae Halmang, the giant goddess said to have created Jeju Island. From there, they travel through beloved Korean children’s songs, poems that became songs, Nobel Prize–winning author Han Kang’s We Do Not Part, and finally “Arirang,” sung together by everyone.
But this is no ordinary performance. There is no boundary between the stage and the audience. You’ll read, speak, and sing along. You may even find yourself on stage, helping the three hunters bring a story to life.
Three hunters on stage.
Countless hunters in the audience.
