Food is a huge part of the Diwali holiday. We’re getting into the Diwali spirit through some exciting and tasty cooking classes, for small and affordable fees, to take place in the professional community kitchen at the Roundhouse.
Sizzle and simmer up some South Asian delicacies this Diwali! Our chef, Raj Thandhi, will take you on a journey of food and spice during the Diwali Fest Cooking Demonstrations!
Known for bringing the “Indian touch’ to everything she does, Raj is a quintessential desi girl. Born and raised on the West Coast of Canada with a strong Punjabi influence she grew up on a steady diet of Bollywood flicks, trips to the Indian market, and ‘ghar ka khanna‘ (homemade food). These days she tries to pass on the same cultural influences, and her love of Indian food to her two kids – all of which is documented on her South Asian lifestyle blog called Pink Chai Living.
