We're the sixth stop on the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series at BC Place in Vancouver, and Westhills Stadium in beautiful Langford BC!
What will the Canada Sevens tournament schedule look like?
The Canada Sevens tournament will feature 45 games played over two days – March 11 and 12, 2016. Rugby sevens matches feature two 7-minute halves of play with a 2-minute halftime.
The match schedule will be set closer to the tournament dates, however estimated times of play will be:
Saturday, March 11: 9:30am – 8:00pm (Gates Open at 8:30am)
Sunday, March 12: 10:00am – 6:30pm (Gates Open at 9:00am)
Will in and out privileges be allowed each day?
As we did in our inaugural year, BC Place Stadium History will offer In & Out privileges once again! Fans will be free to come and go as they please from open (8:30am) until 1:00pm each day of the tournament. If fans choose to leave after 1:00pm fans will not be allowed re-entry.
How is the Canada Sevens Tournament structured?
Teams will be divided into four pools consisting of four teams the week prior to the event, following the previous Series stop in Las Vegas. The tournament features 16 nations, including 15 core teams qualified for inclusion on all stops of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.
Teams will play a round-robin schedule of three games each within their pool on the Saturday. Based on the results of these games, teams will compete in qualifier, semi-final and final matches for the ultimate tournament championship Cup.
