The preliminary round will begin on November 25th, At Michael J. Fox Theatre this marks the the beginning of the annual Tao Li Cup World Dance Competition, with its renowned prestigiousness, it provides the perfect platform for dancers from all ages and backgrounds to compete, learn, and communicate.

Preliminaries are divided into professional and nonprofessional. All contestants are divided into 8 different age groups. Styles include: Chinese folk dance, Chinese classical dance, ballet, modern dance, contemporary dance, the international standard dance, tap, jazz, hip-hop dance; solo, duet, trio dance.

Tao Li Cup give different dance associations an opportunity to push for dance production, performance and presentation. Helping both professional and amature dancers to achieve dancing excellence.

Competition Details:
Preliminaries will be begin on November 25, 2016, held at Michael J Fox Theatre, 7373 Macpherson Ave, Burnaby. Each contestants are reviewed and selected by judges, contestants are then recommended by the Pan American Chinese Dance Alliance to participate in the finals which is held on January 2017 in Los Angeles.

Prize Details:
The prize will be different in terms of the dance forms and age group. Prizes include medal ranges from bronze to gold, Outstanding Performance Award, Best Participation Award, outstanding director award and more

Registrations Details:
- Single: $135 per dance
- Double/triple: $65 per person, per dance
- Small group (4 - 10 people): $40 per person, per dance
- Large group (11 people or more): $26 per person, per dance
