The show was such a huge success the concert has become an annual event and band has toured extensively in British Columbia and Alberta.
The shows sell out well in advance and their concerts are eagerly anticipated every year. In 2004 the B3 KINGS recorded their first Christmas CD. A Cellar Live Christmas which Jazzreview.com called "one of the greatest Christmas recordings ever." They followed it up in 2008 with You Better Watch Out! This year the band will head into the studio to record their 3rd Christmas CD called Laughing All The Way.
The quartet is anchored by Canadian vocal sensation Denzal Sinclaire. Sinclaire also doubles as the drummer for this band. Denzal is known internationally as a jazz star and has had his praises sung by the likes of Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson.
In 2015 he was the guest artist with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra and their Big Band For The Holidays Tour. Hammond B3 Organist Chris Gestrin is responsible for making this group as funky as it is with his wicked organ grooves and creative arrangements of the Christmas classics. Cory Weeds is a tenor saxophonist with an expressive sound rooted in Jazz tradition, a label owner tirelessly documenting unsung Jazz heroes, one of Canada’s most important Jazz impresarios, the hardest-working man in Jazz business – Cory Weeds is all of these things, and much more. His recent relese with The Jeff Hamilton Trio – This Happy Madness peaked at #1 on the Jazz Week Charts for 2 weeks. Guitarist Bill Coon is as funky as they come but brings with him a wonderful jazz sensibility that really completes the quartet.
The B3 Kings are:
