Join us at the workshop and help shape the future land use in your neighbourhood!
Date/Time: Nov 12 2015, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
New Westminster, Sapperton Pensioners Hall
At the workshop we will explore different housing choices and their pros and cons. We will also explore land use scenarios for each neighbourhood showing where the different housing forms and other land uses (e.g. commercial) could be located. The scenarios are based on the maps made by the community at the February’s Neighbourhood Visioning Process and research staff did over the summer. They imagine really low density, really high density, and in-between density versions of the visioning maps. We’ll use them to discuss the pros and cons of different types of growth, and explore where in that range each neighbourhood should land.
Your input at the workshop will help guide us when we make the draft land use map for the city, which we’ll bring out for more public input at a future event.
Since we already have community plans for Queensborough and the Downtown, this workshop will focus on the rest of the city.
