Compared to musical ‘giants’ such as Neil Young and Mick Jagger, this sensitive lyricist and ingenious composer moves effortlessly between delicacy and intimacy and stormy, energetic Rock ‘n Roll.
Shalom Hanoch’s language, his performance, and especially his diligent search for new boundaries for the “Israeli Music” classification, are what changed and established this musical genre. Hanoch will be joined on stage tonight by his long-time musical partner and keyboard player Moshe Levi.
This performance strips Shalom’s songs to their minimal form: vocals, piano and acoustic guitar allowing the songs to be revealed in all their beauty, emotion and complexity. The show has drawn thousands of fans and music lovers as diverse as the show itself performing in over 1,000 concerts throughout Israel and worldwide.
“In terms of the flesh and the spirit, by means of his inimitable lyrics and music, the legendary rockstar opened the horizons of Israeli music… This inventory of songs is a unique cultural resource, a tremendous lifetime achievement.” – Ha’aretz
“…a bona fide rock ‘n roll star and one of the most influential individuals who had grown up within the Israeli music scene.” – Jerusalem Post
