Barbara and Jay chose a 1999, 31-minute work entitled Embryotrophic Cavatina with music by Zbigniew Preisner to teach to the Cuban dancers. In the process of remembering the work, they also recalled that their original intention was to choreograph the remaining 37 minutes of Preisner’s album, Requiem for my friend. This solo for Molly will be the foundation for completing the full 68-minute quartet that will premiere in September, 2017.
Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Molly graduated with a BFA in dance from Simon Fraser University, and is now based in Vancouver. She has had the pleasure of working professionally for Deanna Peters, Justine Chambers, Alison Towne, Lydia Wagerer, Co. ERASGA, Kokoro Dance, and Mascall Dance. Molly was a co-founder and collaborator with The Story of Force and Motion, a collective with which she had the opportunity to create, present and perform in her own work.
