Serving as an extension of the Vancouver in the Seventies photo exhibition which spotlights some of the best images from the Vancouver Sun’s collection, this panel discussion will consider the historical significance of journalism’s shift from film to digital photography and the role it has played in altering the media’s approach to documenting news.
The panel will consider whether digital photography compromises or enhances the work of photojournalists. Issues surrounding authenticity and the currency of photojournalism in a snap-happy social media landscape will be discussed, as well as what media industry practices might look like in the future.
This impressive panel of photojournalists is sure to provide thought provoking discussion about the above issues, and their experiences in various newsrooms and in the field.
This is our first Happy Hour event of 2017. The bar opens at 6:00pm and drinks will be available throughout the evening.
