Alexander Gastown is about to be the new place to meet old and new friends. The stunning heritage space has been transformed into a warm and welcoming party venue and an intimate place to catch-up over cocktails. This new Gastown hotspot has been re-tooled, re-purposed, and carefully curated by experienced industry veterans Marlon J. English, Michael Nyuis, Aaron Dudley, Terry Chen, Kimani Ray Smith, and David McCulloch.
Right now you may be questioning why I am so on board with this venture? A bunch of dudes opening a bar is not a unique or uncommon story in Vancouver. But this group of friends, with relationships extending as far back as fifteen years, are unique. They share strong, long-standing professional relationships, and personal bonds, tested over the years, with successful endeavours like Slow Jam Sundays and Fortune Sound Club. Each individual brings something different to the table, information that was afforded to me through Marlon J. English and Terry Chen. The friendships really became apparent when Marlon referred to Aaron Dudley as a “fixture” in Vancouver clubs, and “a very handsome man”, quickly assuring me I could quote him on that.
