Come out for a fun filled evening of music, dance and entertainment with Grant Lawrence, emcee, an award winning author and CBC Radio Host, the North Shore Celtic Ensemble, ProArte dancers and students and teachers of the North Shore Branch of the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association. This is a fundraising concert to benefit the Carlile Youth Concurrent Disorders Unit at The HOpe Centre in Lions Gate Hospital. The evening will include a silent auction with contributions from local shops, hotels, businesses, music teachers, and more! All proceeds go towards supporting a music therapy program for the youth at the Carlile Centre. Don’t miss this great community event!
With special guest host Grand Lawrence, CBC radio host and author of nationally acclaimed book “Adventures in Solitude”
The BC Registered Music Teachers on the North Shore have been working with families and teaching children in the community for decades. While they focus on providing superior music education and performance opportunities for their students, they also encourage students to participate in community events and use their developing talents. In keeping with this, they have decided to bring together our community for a benefit concert on April 8th, 2017.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting and expanding music therapy for patients in the Carlile Youth Concurrent Disorders Centre. With music therapy, patients can have access to musical instruments, recording equipment and a music therapist. Music Therapy can help meet the emotional and social needs of individuals as well as promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and foster self-expression.
