It is well known that all choreographies can benefit from a rehearsal director, especially those where the choreographer is performing themselves. That is why this workshop is so important! Come and join Martha to examine different aspects of the work of a rehearsal director and how it complements the roles of an ‘outside eye’ and dramaturg. Reflecting on her many years as a rehearsal director with Cie Marie Chouinard and other choreographers, she will use clips of various videos to demonstrate specific ways of assisting the research, creation and production of dance works. The workshop is designed for anyone who is interested in either working with a director for their own work, or becoming a rehearsal director for others.
Registration deadline: Wednesday April 5, 2017
Upcoming workshops:
Spatial Dramaturgy with Alex Ferguson (Fight With a Stick), May 12
Working with a Lighting Designer with James Proudfoot, June 14
