MEDICINE WHEEL CEREMONY
The Medicine Wheel is a symbol of holistic teachings based on the cycles of nature. People from varying backgrounds and spiritual traditions are invited to gather to celebrate the beginning of a new season in a beautiful outdoors setting at VanDusen Garden.
Drumming, singing, and prayers will be shared. The ceremony concludes with a pot-luck (the sharing of food).
What to bring:
- Bring clothing and gear appropriate for the weather (ie. warm clothes, cool clothes, rain clothes, visor, hat, umbrella, sun screen, water etc.)
- Bring something to sit on as the ceremony (except for in December) is held outdoors and lasts 3 hours.
- A potluck item to share at the end of the ceremony as well as your own dishes and cutlery.
- A small stone or more to infuse prayers into and to leave at the wheel.
Regular garden admission is charged for those participating in the ceremony.
