Ableton Live is one of the top music creation and performance platforms available. In this workshop students will be introduced to the fundamentals of audio recording, MIDI sequencing, mixing, and sound synthesis. They will learn how to use the tools in Ableton Live to produce music, experimental sound pieces and create their own synth patches.
No prior experience necessary!
Participants are asked to bring their own headphones; or may otherwise contact education@vivomediaarts.com beforehand to reserve a pair.
Participants may bring their own MIDI controllers, but are not required to do so.
Alexandre Klinke (alexandreklinke.com) is a Brazilian music composer, producer and sound designer for TV & film, based in Vancouver, Canada. With background as a jazz and classical guitarist, his work as a composer reflects an eclectic style that ranges from orchestral to electronic, jazz and rock. As a solo artist, he is heavily inspired by the harmonies and intricate rhythms from Brazilian music. He is also an Instructor at the Digital Music Production Program at Langara College, in Vancouver
