Vij's co-owner and chef Meeru Dhalwala is delighted to hand-prepare Poori-Aloo. Poori is an Indian puffed flatbread, and Aloo is a slow-cooked tangy and spicy potato curry, meant to complement the warm fragrant poori. The dish is served with mango/chili pickles, raita, and finished off with a delicious glass of hot chai or a creamy mango lassi. Poori-Aloo is a labour intensive Punjabi dish, rarely available in restaurants, but as part of DOXA’s brunch, will be specially prepared for DOXA patrons by Meeru herself.
After the meal, please join us for a special artist talk with director Charles Wilkinson (Oil Sands Karaoke, Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World), and a sneak peek at some of DOXA’s upcoming Festival programming.
Don’t miss this unique and flavourful event with DOXA and Vij’s.
