Our popular Classical Concert Series continues year-round, and features fine performances by renowned performers every Thursday morning at 10:30.
Rebecca Blair: Rebecca is a notable harpist in the Vancouver music scene, giving concerts and playing at events regularly around the city. Her approach to performing and teaching the harp draws on her classical background to enrich her passion for improvisation. She has had the honour of performing for distinguished audiences such as the Vancouver International Song Institute, the International Bar Association and the President of Ireland. Rebecca offers over twenty years of professional experience performing at weddings and memorials as well as private or corporate events. Her collection of musical styles is very diverse, ranging from Celtic, Classical to Popular.
As a studio musician, she has contributed to a number of recordings such as “Orrachan” by Teresa Doyle, and “Nigawe Aski” (Mother Earth) by Sandy Skofield. Rebecca regularly gives harp workshops around the lower mainland such as Early Music Vancouver and Place des Arts. Her busy schedule includes teaching Celtic harp, recording, and performing with the group Triskellion.
Rosie Carver: Rosalie Carver is a violin and fiddle teacher in Vancouver, BC. She is the associate director for the Vancouver Corelli Strings, founder and director of the West Coast Fiddleheads and a performer with the Celtic folk group, Blackthorn. With over 25 years experience in teaching and performing, Rosalie offers private or group lessons as well as workshops for beginners to advanced.
With a positive approach, the lessons focus on posture, intonation, timing, dynamics, dexterity and a beautiful tone. Rosalie believes that with proper training and musical awareness you can venture into classical, baroque, romantic, contemporary, fiddle, gospel, jazz or whichever style you choose.
Rosalie currently offers violin lessons and fiddle lessons at her studio located in East Vancouver and at Place des Arts in Coquitlam.
Michelle Carlisle: MICHELLE CARLISLE is an entertainer and performer, teacher, accompanist, session/studio musician, songwriter, composer and arranger.
Michelle is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. She performs and records with her flute, piccolo, alto flute, irish whistle, fifes and piano. Michelle is a flute, whistle, piano, and music theory teacher in North Delta, BC.
