Vancouver's ”First Lady of Uke” Daphne Roubini sings and plays the ukulele in her band, Black Gardenia, with a darkly-relaxed blend of vintage jazz, country, folk and blues from the 20′s, 30′s and 40′s. Their original tunes bring to mind Django Rheinhardt’s gypsy jazz with Billie Holiday as vocalist. With Chris Davis trumpet, Paul Pigat guitar, Brent Gubbles bass, and Andrew Smith guitar.
