il Peep is an American recording artist hailing from Long Island, New York. His songs "White Wine", "Star Shopping", and "The Way I See Things" have each gained over a million views on YouTube. His music video for the song "Girls", from his 2016 HELLBOY mixtape, was released in January 2017.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Lil Peep was raised in Long Island’s South Shore. He soon began making music and posting it on YouTube and SoundCloud. As of 2017, he resides in Los Angeles, and is a member of collective GOTHBOICLIQUE and formerly SCHEMAPOSSE. Lil Peep's music contains lyrical themes regarding topics such as suicide, past relationships and drug use and has been described as "the future of Emo" by Steven J. Horowitz of online magazine Pitchfork. His musical influences include Gucci Mane, Crystal Castles and Panic! at the Disco. His songs have sampled such artists as Brand New, Radiohead, Underoath, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer, The Postal Service and The Microphones.
