This beautiful day will be both informative and restorative for your mind, body and spirit.
Jhaimy will share healing techniques from an Andean perspective that can be integrated into a daily practice for yourself or healing work with others. He will focus on discussing harmonizing the 3 bodies - the mind, body and soul (Serpent, Puma and Condor) and Andean techniques used for overall health and wellness.
Matthew will guide us through the Breath Empowerment - a cleansing and clearing technique he calls "the most powerful energy exercise I have ever found". He will then share more of his favourite energy cultivation practices - simple movements and breathing patterns he learned from QiGong and breath masters.
Later in the day, Matthew and Jhaimy will take you on a profound journey through the subtle realms as Jhaimy provides energetic support while Matthew bathes us in cosmic sound with his throat singing and music.
Space is limited to 12 participants, pre-registration is required.
Please bring: a yoga mat, a light wrap/blanket, an eye pillow, bottle of water, and a bagged lunch.
Jhaimy Alvarez-Acosta is a Traditional Curandero and wisdomkeeper from Cusco, Peru and is best known for his heart-centered approach to ceremony and healing, supporting liberation from limitations and connecting to heart and purpose.
About Matthew Kocel:
I was conceived in New Jersey and born in Alaska.
By the age of 10, I had crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice by boat, traveled throughout western Europe, lived in France, Germany and Virginia, swam naked in the Pentagon (that's right, THE Pentagon - I have witnesses!) and settled in Colorado for the next 33 years.
The transcendent qualities of music helped save me from total implosion in my youth. As a young man I played bass and sang in rock & progressive rock bands for 15 years...desperately seeking those timeless moments of opening to the greater reality of life.
In 1989 something magical happened when I walked into a metaphysical store for the first time and heard a sound that would change my life forever: it was a recording of the Gyuto monks from Tibet. For the next 10 years I tried, unsuccessfully, to mimic their deep voice overtone chants.
In 1994 I found a crystal on a mountaintop in South Park, Colorado. This marked the beginning of my journey into healing arts as an outward expression of my spiritual path.
In 1997 I began holding meditation circles in my home in Denver, Colorado. People came, some had extraordinary experiences.
In the meditation circles I began to use vocal harmonics to transmit the energies I was experiencing.
In 1999 I met my beloved wife during a spiritual retreat at Mount Shasta.
Later that year the Tibetan deep voice came through me which opened a whole new dimension of healing and transformation through music and sound...
This music is coming through now, in these chaotic times to help us re-member our total connection to each other and All That Is.
This is how our paths have crossed today.
