150 years of stories and histories of our community will be celebrated at National Aboriginal Day. Traditional stories and songs will be shared as away to deepen our understanding of the traditional territory that the city of Richmond was built upon

The stories will trace the Indigenous people of the area and the impact of colonization has had on the local Aboriginal population. Pathways Aboriginal Centre’s Youth Powwow Dance Group will open the event with an energetic performance followed by other Indigenous performers which will be announced in 2017. The day will close with the cutting of a Birthday Cake to celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday!
