Who keeps a 450-pound printing press in their living room? South Surrey artist Tracy Hetherington does. On Thursday, December 3 as part of the Thursday Artist Talk series at the Surrey Art Gallery, you’ll get to hear her discuss the process of relief printmaking and see her print samples and relief carvings. In her illustrated talk, “Inked Up: Printmaking by Hand,” Tracy will take the audience through the tactile joy of carving to the immediate satisfaction as a print is pulled from the ink.
About the Artist: Tracy Hetherington is a fine art printmaker and graphic artist. She received her BFA from the Nova Scotia University of Art and Design and a design certificate with BCIT/Emily Carr College of Art and Design. She loves drawing, printing, and typography and has shown work in Pforzheim, Germany, Hailfax, Nova Scotia, and the Confederation Centre for the Arts (Charlottetown, PEI). She returns to public showing after a creative incubation period working for Surrey Libraries.
