Welcome to The New West Cultural Crawl, your opportunity to discover the creative landscape of Historical New Westminster
Date/Time: Aug 13 2017, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm
New Westminster, The Gallery at Queen's Park
For over a decade, the New West Cultural Crawl has brought together members of the community to participate in a two-day free arts & cultural festival showcasing New West's creative talent.
Great Art. Better Memories.
New Westminster has a fantastic artistic landscape that continues to evolve with every passing year. Join us as the festivities begin on Friday, August 11th, with a wine and cheese party (cash bar) from 5 pm - 7 pm on the third floor of the Anvil Centre. Enjoy a sneak peak at the high quality of art presented during the Cultural Crawl. An Opening Ceremony will be held at 6pm with remarks from local and provincial dignitaries. Volunteers will be on hand with maps and suggested routes to enhance your experience. Then on Saturday and Sunday the New West Cultural Crawl sprawls across New Westminster as arts and cultural facilities throw their doors open and welcome you in.
This two-day event on August 12th & 13th will include open studios where local artists feature their work and their creative process. Look for special events and live paint-ins at popular arts, culture and heritage destinations around the city.
The self-guided crawl is arranged in convenient neighbourhood clusters that showcase local art in galleries, theatres and historical venues. These neighbourhoods include Sapperton, Downtown, Uptown, West End, and Queensborough.
