BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
New Jersey-born Halsey, aka Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, grew up with hopes of earning a fine arts degree before lack of funds led her to enroll in a songwriting program at a local community college. The detour quickly became her focus as she discovered her knack for crafting deeply personal songs . After several years of gigging around the country and sharing demos with labels, she signed with Astralwerks in 2014 and released her debut EP Room 93. The record was a hit with critics, leading to a tour with The Kooks, an appearance on Last Call with Carson Daly, and a buzzed-about performance at SXSW in Austin. In early 2015 Halsey toured the country with Young Rising Sons for her American Youth US Tour, and she'll continue to impress ticket buyers during summer 2015 on the road with Imagine Dragons.
