This event concludes for this year the annual 'Give Peace a Chance' (GPAC) Program of the Global Peace Alliance (GPA) based in Surrey
Date/Time: Oct 7 2017, 12:00 am to 5:30 pm
Surrey, Fleetwood Community CentreCost: Free
The event will take the form of a multicultural variety show with stage performances (music, songs, and dances) and exhibits of other varied cultural traditions such as food, dress, art & craft. There will also be nationally and internationally recognized keynote speakers during the course of the event. It will be further spiced with fun activities for both the young and old. These activities will include face-painting, acrostic peace-day poetry competition, and making origami peace doves. At the same time, there will also be information tables from supporting organizations.
Another highlight at the event will be the announcement and special recognition with cash prizes and trophies of the winners of the peace-themed 2017 Arts & Literary Contests across all ages conducted as part of the 2017 GPAC Program. Through these contests, GPA aims at developing an annually expanding Dictionary of Peace for the Children by the Children - based on direct and indirect peace messages embedded in the artwork and literary submissions of children and a similarly annually expanding database of peacemaking ideas of adults expressed through their submissions.
