In the mid-80’s, Blue Rodeo was the hottest band on the Toronto club circuit and there was no reason not to believe that their success wouldn’t continue to grow. Only a few months later, after the album’s initial single flopped, the band was told their future with the label was bleak. And then “Try” was released. MuchMusic took a chance and put the video into heavy rotation. Radio soon followed their lead and embraced the song, setting Blue Rodeo on a remarkable career path that has led to over 4 million records sold, multiple JUNO Awards, world-wide tours, an induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and a Star on the Walk of Fame. In the ensuing years, the band has survived a number of changes but with the songwriting and voices of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor at its heart, Blue Rodeo has become one of this country’s most successful bands – both critically and commercially – all the while influencing the evolving sound of Canadian music.?
