Move, dance and create together to honour the unique experience of the aging body. Transform everyday actions into movements that improve strength and mobility, encourage liveliness and spark imagination. Through improvisation and creative movement exercises, participants will explore their body’s potential.
All bodies welcome, no experience or skill required. Come dressed to move!
About Carolina Bergonzoni:
Carolina is a dance artist, yoga teacher, and scholar based on the unceded Coast Salish territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. She holds a BA and an MA in Philosophy, and an MA in Comparative Media Arts. Her research interests include dance and phenomenology, as well as the definition of presence in dance performance. Carolina has been teaching since 2008. In 2011, she graduated as a Dance Educator and Community Engagement Facilitator (Danzeducatore©). The same year, she also became a Teacher in Philosophy for Children and Community (P4C). Since then, Carolina has been working toward building a community of movers and thinkers with people from 0 to 99+ years old. Carolina is the artistic director of the Italian association CO.ME.TE (Body, Mind and Territory) and one of the co-founder of PerFormazioni Cinetiche (PFC), an Italian association for dance promotion, management and production. She is proud to sit on the Board of Live Biennale Vancouver, to be the secretary of Vines Art Festival, and the Chair of Raven Spirit Dance. Carolina has been teaching Creative Movement programs at Anvil Centre since 2016.
