People celebrate the triumph of good, light and knowledge over evil, darkness and ignorance. Diwali also celebrates a good year of harvesting and honors the Goddess of Wealth for the prosperity and wellbeing of the community, the nation and the whole universe.
GSBC organizes a Diwali celebration where community members can meet and ring in the Hindu New Year. A puja will be performed followed by a sermon by a seer or a Pundit (priest) explaining the basic tenets of Hinduism.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the GSBC Scholarship Fund.
