Tetsu Taiko is the first organized taiko group in Richmond and only the 2nd youth taiko group in the Lower Mainland. Formed in December of 2000 at the Steveston Buddhist Temple, we have grown from a young children's drumming group to an exciting independent taiko group. We strive to promote Japanese culture through taiko drumming and feature traditional North American and Japanese taiko pieces. We enjoy working on collaborations with other artists and have done performances with other taiko groups, Afro Cuban drummers, Chinese dancers, Bollywood Dancers, professional ice skaters, and Break dancers.

Here is an outline of our work: Vancouver Puppet Theatre is performing an original and educational puppet theatre plays for children of 2-14 y/old. We have number of theatre plays to accommodate every age. Our plays for younger audiences (2-10 years old) are mostly based on the traditional folktales (The Wolf and Seven Kids, Three Little Pigs, Kolobok, etc.) but we are flexible and ready to create a show specifically for your event. We could also customise our existing shows to accommodate your requirements. Our plays are fun, dynamic and could be connected to the BC Curriculum easily.
