Dead Kennedys
Dead Kennedys were one of the most popular and important American hardcore punk bands of the late 70s/early 80s. Formed in San Francisco in 1978, they were among the first American hardcore bands to make a significant impact in the United Kingdom.
Dead Kennedys' lyrics were usually political in nature, satirizing establishment political figures (both liberal and conservative) and authority in general, as well as popular culture and even the punk movement itself. During their initial incarnation between 1978 and 1986, they attracted considerable controversy for their provocative lyrics and artwork. Several stores refused to stock their recordings, provoking debate about censorship in rock music; in the mid 1980s, vocalist and primary lyricist Jello Biafra became an active campaigner against the Parents Music Resource Center. This culminated in an obscenity trial between 1985 and 1986, which resulted in a hung jury.
The group released a total of four studio albums and one EP before disbanding in 1986. Following the band's dissolution, Biafra continued to collaborate and record with other artists including D.O.A., NoMeansNo and his own bands Lard and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, as well as releasing several spoken word performances.
Fu Manchu
Californian stoner-rock band.
Formed in 1987 as hardcore band Virulence. They changed their name to Fu Manchu in 1990 and started turning more towards stoner-rock.
Dwarves
The Dwarves are an American punk rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, as the Suburban Nightmare, in the mid-1980s. They are currently based in San Francisco, California. Formed as a garage punk band, their career subsequently saw them move in a hardcore direction before settling into an eclectic punk rock sound emphasizing intentionally shocking lyrics. They have been described as "one of the last true bastions of punk rock ideology in the contemporary musical age."
Truckfighters
Truckfighters are back with the sizzling new album V. Yup, you guessed it, it's their fifth album and it's pretty great.
If you are interested in groovy, stoner-influenced, progressive and melodic hard rock you probably know about Truckfighters already. "The best band that ever existed" as Josh Homme said in the 2011 "fuzzomentary" Truckfighters. You might also know the story about how Niklas 'Dango' Källgren teamed up with bassist and vocalist Oskar 'Ozo' Cedermalm in a worn down rehearsal space in Örebro, Sweden in 2001 and how the first song they ever recorded, Desert Cruiser, since then has gone on to become a desert rock anthem. You probably also know that the band itself has gone on to release four full length albums and played sold out shows on four continents.
The band's upcoming fifth album, V, is released September 30th under exclusive license to the established label Century Media Records.
"Century Media have been very cool with us. We've been able to keep that do it yourself-philosophy of ours, to focus solely on our creative process and producing the album", says Ozo.
V continues the Truckfighters tradition of blending big riffs, dynamism and intricate songwriting.
"The album won't come as a huge surprise for those who've heard our earlier work – but at the same time it feels like a leap forward. We've been able to create some of our best songs so far. For us this is definitely the album of the year", says Dango and laughs.
If you know your Truckfighters you know their history with drummers. It's been a few. "We use to say that Truckfighters has a 'very Spinal Tap relationship' to drummers," says Niklas, "but we are really happy with the contributions of Daniel 'El Danno' Israelsson on V". "Also, it's pretty cool that we got our friend, drummer extraordinaire Peter Damin – known from the Paradise Lost album Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us – to play the drums on the track The 1."

Deap Vally
American alternative rock duo founded in 2011 in Los Angeles.
Earthless
Heavy, largely instrumental, jam-rock guitar/bass/drums trio. Much of their output is live recordings.
Diarrhea Planet
The gravitational pull of Diarrhea Planet is strong; once you get caught in the orbit of its stadium-sized riffs and blistering solos, it’s hard to escape. The Nashville six-piece has been melting faces since its debut 7” Aloha first started making waves outside the leafy campus of Belmont University, where its members first met. What started as a dorm room dick joke between two friends bored by the music-business ladder-climbing of their classmates has grown into one of the biggest—and loudest—rock acts to come out of Nashville since their big bros and labelmates in JEFF The Brotherhood. As they toured the country behind their critically acclaimed 2013 LP I’m Rich Beyond Your Wildest Dreams, the likes of Billboard, Rolling Stone, SPIN, and even BuzzFeed have taken notice. Ignore them at your own peril.
Black Wizard
Heavy metal from Vancouver, BC.
Dirty Fences
Dirty Fences from New York City sling ‘70s street-level punk rock & roll. Tommy Ramone beat. Harmonies. Tons of vocals. From fast slasher power pop tunes to country ballads to Eddie Cochran style parentsjustdontunderstand sex rock and roll, they know their stuff and have a lot of fun with it.
Meatbodies
Alice is a self critical epic. As somber as the fog, intoxicating as jasmine. A near fable of fear, sexuality, war, religion, technology, peace, philosophy, hedonism, sociology, evolution, and ecclesiasticism. Like a whisper on a vinyl record from1952. Alice is open with dilated pupils. Flushed with passion, under soft lit words. A dance hall in the jungle, interrupted by the thunderous disease of the contemporary man. Alice is no religion, but may be seen as one. Alice is no person, no god. Alice is an idea, a feeling, covered in pink lace. Alice is a message, a hidden commentary of modern day, bathed in fantasy, abounding in ecstasy, feeling colors. Feminine in nature, torrid fantastic emotion, unique and tangible. A stinging kiss on a crisp November night.
Meatbodies return ascending towards ground level bringing us ALICE. A "heavy-pop" concept, metal on molly. Chad Ubovich, Patrick Nolan, and Kevin Boog step out in new form, souring through diverse stories, tones, and characters. Dancing between quiet and loud, funk and doom. pop and noise. Their messages preached celestial and deafening, a sacred scripture for today's world. A warbling rhodes piano, a liquifying electric guitar, a ghostly synthesizer skating across the sands of a 12 stringed acoustic. Meatbodies dig deep into the rich soils of earth to reveal the chaotic sensual vibrations underneath the fields we walk upon. Connecting our limbs, our mouths, our consciousness to the microcosms of the grime, all while being lit by black light. Captured wriggling and alive in San Francisco by Ubovich and Eric Bauer at The Bauer Mansion. ALICE is a step in the right direction, a new direction, a new way of thinking.
Watching the futures, watching the world burn.
