Her husband is forced to become her caregiver while she struggles with PTSD and he tries to unravel the mystery of what exactly happened to her. She finds herself abandoned by the country she served, in a near catatonic state, physically immobile, and left to languish in poverty in a basement suite with her unemployed and intimacy-starved husband. Tension escalates when a former war comrade shows up unwelcomed and unhinged. WET offers a devastating account of what some of our veterans come home to and how they must struggle to reclaim their humanity after being trained and conditioned into killing machines. The play mostly takes place in the aforementioned basement suite. As such, ITSAZOO will produce WET in a site-specific venue, an actual basement suite, thereby enhancing its potential for intimacy and intensity.
