In writer-director Walter Hill's (THE WARRIORS) action-adventure-musical STREETS OF FIRE is a totally stylish, cult-classic guilty pleasure that, upon its release in 1984, spoke directly to the MTV generation. Featuring a memorable soundtrack from musician Ry Cooder and billed as a "rock and roll fable from another time, another place," the film stars Willem Dafoe as the memorably monikered Raven Shaddock, who - with his gang of merciless biker friends - kidnaps rock singer Ellen Aim (Diane Lane). Ellen's former lover, soldier-for-hire Tom Cody (Michael Paré), happens to be passing through town on a visit. In an attempt to save his star act, Ellen's manager Billy Fish (Rick Moranis) hires Tom to rescue her. Along with a former soldier named McCoy (Amy Madigan), they battle through dangerous cityscapes, determined to get Ellen back.
"A carefully stylised movie that's something like pure cinema." (UK Observer)
