Knowing how to bake a cake from scratch is an essential life skill, at least for Italians! In this 2-class workshop, Alice - cake lover and baker from Italy - will share with you some of her favorite Italian pastry recipes
Date/Time: Dec 12 2017, 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Following her grandmother expertise, Alice grew fond of baking cakes at home with simple ingredients and tools. During this hands-on intimate workshop, you will learn how easy it can be to spoil your loved ones to delicious homemade treats that can be done in your kitchen with no fancy equipment. And because Italians are never able to have just one sweet, each class features three different pastries, which you will get to taste at the end of class and – if you manage not to devour them all – you will also take home for the unlucky ones who did not attend the workshop.
- First class: chocolate cake (risen dough), Alice’s apple strudel, Cantucci
- Second class: rustic ricotta-amaretti-almond pastry, orange cake (risen dough with coulis), Savoiardi (Italian ladyfingers for Tiramisu and Charlotte)
Tickets are $100 for both classes and $55 for one – $90 and $50 respectively for members. Attendance is limited to 12 people so act fast!
All the ingredients and kitchen tools are supplied, but make sure to bring an apron, a container for pastry to take home and a full belly! You are also welcome to bring your own wine if you’d like to have a glass of wine while you cook. Sorry, the class is NOT recommended if you follow a gluten-free or vegan diet. While the class starts at 6.30, please arrive a few minutes early.
