In 2017/2018 the Pacific Symphonic Wind Ensemble will explore, through a number of major works both original and transcribed, musical responses to our planet and life upon it. Full of humour, pathos and great melodies, the season will include collaborations with other artists and ensembles and contributions by local composers.
In HYDROSPHERE, we'll observe the ocean, lakes and rivers, and find both the beauty and the perils found there-in. Featured pieces include Mendelssohn's "Fingal's Cave," "Of Sailors and Whales: five scenes from Melville", by W. Francis McBeth, "Blue Lake Overture" by John Barnes Chance and the Prelude from "49th Parallel" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Don't forget to mark your calendars for the next installments in The Mother Earth Project:

BIOSPHERE Saturday June 9, 2018
