t was over four decades ago that Engelbert Humperdinck – music’s “King of Romance” – emerged as one of the foremost entertainers in the world. Once called “the premiere voice of the 20th century” by The London Times, the multiple Grammy nominee with his ultra-smooth three-and-one-half octave range and natural charisma has sold over 150 million records worldwide including sixty-four Gold albums and twenty-four Platinum albums. His popularity continues to cross every generation and gender while his fan club remains one of the largest in the world with over 250 chapters.
Engelbert first hit the charts with his smash hit, “Release Me” in 1967. He went on to record numerous hits including “After the Lovin’”, “Winter World Of Love”, “Am I That Easy To Forget”, “The Last Waltz”, “There Goes My Everything”, “Les Bicyclettes De Belsize”, “This Moment In Time”, “Til You and Your Lover Are Lovers Again” and “A Man Without Love”.
Last year, Engelbert released the critically acclaimed double album, Engelbert Calling which featured duets with a “wish list” of artists he wanted to work with including Elton John, Willie Nelson, Olivia Newton-John, Smokey Robinson, Gene Simmons and Dionne Warwick. Earlier this year, a Special Edition Vinyl EP featuring four tracks from the album was released … his first vinyl release in more than 25 years.
