“This is an event designed for all those who have the courage to ask “who am I?” through the eyes of others… Long life to this creation of surprising originality.” Toronto French Theatre
Mary’s health started to fail, and so in a desire to grow close to his mother, Michael proposed that they go to Poland together to find their family’s roots. When in Poland, however, they discover that there is a new generation of unexpected Jews living there, and a far more complex version of contemporary Poland than they had bothered to consider.
Presented in a media rich environment, incorporating video footage from the actual trip and archival material that while depicting a very personal journey, explores universal themes of identity, loss, and family trauma and is charged with unexpected humour, the shadows of war and the promise of writing a new narrative.
