The course will look at traditional Jewish texts from the areas of Tanakh, Talmud, Halacha, and Hasidic Thought with an eye to the politically and ethically progressive and mind-bending. The First class is on February 1st.

The Hebrew Bible, or Tanakh, has often been used as a reactionary text in the hands of the establishment. In its original context, it was a radical envisioning of a progressive society.
Spend an evening touring the Tanakh as a radical political document and discover what it can still teach us today.
