Drawing meaning from the salmon’s journey to their spawning grounds, 2018’s festival is aptly named Scháyilhen (S-ch-eye-yay-lh-un), which translates literally to "Salmon Going Up River"; and speaks to the journey the community is taking towards embracing and celebrating Indigenous art forms and practices.

The Scháyilhen Industry Series is a 4-day forum which gathers arts presenters, artists, scholars, funders, and audience members to further the development and strength of Indigenous arts.
Insightful, aspirational and inspirational, it builds upon conversations and outcomes from the last three Industry Series to further imagine and develop the strengths and significance of Indigenous performing arts.

Th’owxiya: The Hungry Feast Dish, tells the story of Th’owxiya, whose mouth holds the most delicious foods, but if you steal from her, she’ll eat you and your family. A young mouse has made that mistake, but with the help of two young bears, Raven, and Sasquatch, the creature takes a journey to earn her forgiveness. Recommended for Grades K-6.
