Drawn Together Vancouver, a local grassroots organization of women in the animation sector, counts many senior animation executives among its members. Join them for a panel and question and answer session that looks at how the Vancouver animation industry is making strides towards a more inclusive workforce that ensures a wider range of voices and visions. And hear more about DTV’s workshops, networking and mentorship opportunities.

Nancy Basi - Executive Director Film and Media Centre, Vancouver Economic Commission
As Executive Director of the Vancouver Film and Media Centre, Nancy works strategically to grow the screen-based industry for the City of Vancouver. Included in her portfolio are film, television, visual effects and animation, games and interactive entertainment. Additionally, Nancy promotes the City of Vancouver as a world-class destination for business opportunities and a city where industry talent can thrive in the screen-based entertainment sector. Nancy brings with her, 20 years of experience in the film and television industry in both physical production and business development in film production, visual effects and animation.

Kim Dent Wilder, SVP, Production and Operations of Rainmaker and Mainframe Studios, a division of Wow! Unlimited Media, Inc., nurtures the creative artistry of the studio's productions while overseeing and managing its growing film and television operations. She is also involved in
identifying and developing new business opportunities, including the creation of new intellectual properties and partnering with rights holders of established branded properties, as well as ensuring efficiencies across all creative and technological production processes. Instrumental in bringing the company's first feature films, Escape from Planet Earth, in 2013, and Ratchet and Clank, in 2016, Kim is currently engaged in the production of the reboot of the ReBoot TV Series, Spy Kids TV Series, Barbie Dolphin Magic, The Barbie Dreamhouse TV Series, Octonauts and numerous other productions in development. Kim has also served as a CMPA, BC Branch board member since December 2017.
Over the past nearly 20 years, Kim's production credits encompass many high-profile animation series including Hot Wheels (Mattel), Max Steel (Mattel), Weird-ohs, Inspector Gadget (DIC Entertainment), Stuart Little 3 (Sony), Popeye's Voyage–The Quest for Pappy (King Features), The Spider-Man Animated Series (Sony and MTV), and more than thirty DVD features in the direct-to-DVD Barbie series (Mattel).
Brenda Gilbert
Brenda is the Co-Founder, and Co-President of BRON and has been active in film and media initiatives for more than 17 years. Brenda has produced, executive produced or co-executive produced several productions including MIGHTY MIGHTY MONSTERS, HENCHMEN, THE WILLOUGHBYS, I SAW THE LIGHT, THE BIRTH OF A NATION, MONSTER, BEATRIZ AT DINNER, and THE NIGHTINGALE. Brenda is instrumental in facilitating team development and leads BRON with strategic corporate and operational planning. Her background includes many years at the British Columbia Securities Commission where she worked in the Finance, Enforcement, Legal and Communications Divisions.
Rose-Ann Tisserand
Rose-Ann Tisserand is co-founder of Flying Kraken Creative Studios, a boutique, Canadian-based imaginarium that produces original animation content. She has more than 200 hours of award-winning film and television credits and has worked as a production executive for 18 years, specializing in feature animation, episodic TV and client/broadcaster management. As a co-creator/producer, she currently has a series titled “Pop in Park” with TVO. She was supervising producer at Bardel Entertainment and New Machine Studios, chief operating officer for Twenty One Inc., and is a founding member of Drawn Together Vancouver, which advances women in the animation and visual effects industry.
This panel discussion is a free event on International Women's Day at the Vancouver Internation Women in Film Festival, but registering in advance is recommended.
