Drawing from histories, myths, and philosophical inquiries, The Biting School explores social dynamics, historical roots, and political issues on a physical and visceral level
Date/Time: Mar 24 2018, 7:00 pm to 7:50 pm
Vancouver, Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre | Event calendar
The company aims to translate the anxiety, the grotesque, the trauma, and the beautiful of our time into the language of the flesh. The Biting School creates works that are ethically engaging, physically demanding, theatrically bold, and rhythmically humorous.
Disagreeable Tales
Inspired by a compilation of Christian moral tales written by Leon Bloy (1846 – 1917), Disagreeable Tales is an exploration of the violence, cruelty, and perversions in and around us. The questions are: where in our bodies does the sensation of this history of violence lie? What are the possible ways we could face this violence in order to acknowledge it? Maybe in this acknowledging… maybe… we find a moment of vague solidarity.
