ONCE ON THIS ISLAND tells the story of orphaned peasant girl Ti Moune whose love for a young man of a different class gets the attention of the gods themselves. Set on an island in the French Antilles in the Caribbean Sea, the show has elements of both Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid" and ROMEO AND JULIET.
A diverse, multi-ethnic cast of 15 tell the story, playing peasants, grandhommes, gods, parents and children.
