Guest artist Natalie Tin Yin Gan has created a collaborative work with Alanna Ho, Aryo Khakpour and Michelle Lui:
“Four artists, forty hours. First, we asked: how close does intimacy sound? Then, we wondered: what are we doing together? Along the way, we embraced the tantric tyranny of aural pleasure. At last, we performed for each other, and then performed for you.”
Peter Bingham’s scored improvisation, Pillars, continues his exploration of how structure determines relationships, how freedom finds expression within restrictions. The dancers can only meet according to pre-set rules, but within this framework they are free to improvise. The architecture of the dancer’s body multiplied by seven transforms the space; through their dancing the space becomes the choreography. Performed by Delia Brett, Anne Cooper, Elissa Hanson, Arash Khakpour, Walter Kubanek, Diego Romero and Olivia Shaffer.
