It's the final Hot Club Swing before we take the party outside for Dancing in the Street for July & August, and we're absolutely tickled to welcome the Alan Matheson Septet/Nonet!
Date/Time: Jun 16 2018, 8:00 pm to 11:59 pm
Vancouver, Hot Club SwingCost: $15.00
Alan is a prolific trumpeter, jazz pianist, composer, and arranger who teaches jazz trumpet & piano in prestigious local jazz programs--we can't wait to see who he brings with him to round out the group, and can't wait to swing out hard to their tunes
As per usual, we will kick off the night with our total beginner drop-in swing dance lesson--no partner and no previous dance experience necessary! The Vancouver Swing Society firmly believes that any and every body can learn to follow and/or lead, regardless of age, gender expression, ability, and any other aspect of identity. All we ask is that you choose one role (lead or follow) to learn during the lesson, and stick with it for the duration of the class. Once the lesson is over and social dancing starts, you are welcome and encouraged to follow, lead, or switch off roles as much as you like--with your partner's consent, of course!
