This series of three-hour workshops, with certified Axis Syllabus Teacher Ashlea Watkin, will be rooted in a practice of sensing the architectural integrity of our bodies in dynamic movement. We will use anatomic principles and the Axis Syllabus as information resources to delve into physical propositions, ask questions, problem solve through challenges, ride on moments of joy, and tune into physical prowess.

Recently re-located to Vancouver Island, her work investigates the interaction of scientific perspectives and theory with dynamic movement practices that aspire to foster the training of resilient bodies and opportunities for social connectedness.
DAMARISE STE MARIE is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Her major influences and areas of study are ballet & contemporary, dances of the African Diaspora, and the Axis Syllabus. Damarise has years of experience as a dance teacher in studios, community centres, and schools across Canada and internationally.
MO BOT is a lifelong student of movement and loves sharing her approach to cultivating embodied empowerment. Her classes blend ballet and contemporary dance training, wide-ranging yoga study, and contemporary circus artistry into an accessible form of movement study for all. In recent years, her teachings are increasingly informed by her study of the Axis Syllabus, with classes offering a gentle approach to movement play that encourages deep body listening.
