We are thrilled to announce the 20th Vancouver International Improv Festival, running October 9 to 13, 2018 on Granville Island. Comedy fans will enjoy over 14 interactive performances, inspiring workshops and an opening night gala to celebrate of Vancouver’s booming improv scene.
This year's festival welcomes headliners Orange Tuxedo from Los Angeles, The 1992 Chicago Bulls from Dallas, RÅ Power from Edmonton, and more. Vancouver favourites such as The Sunday Service, Shakespeare After Dark and Vancouver TheatreSports will also be showcased.
“There is something for everyone at the 2018 Vancouver International Improv Festival,” said Alistair Cook, Festival Co-Producer. “We have The Wadsworth Constant from Philadelphia performing an absurdist play, Shakespeare After Dark performing a Shakespearean tragedy with a drunk performer, and Kickstand Comedy, from Portland, will perform a show inspired by the music of a live local band. No matter what your favourite style of comedy or theatre, you will have a great time.”

We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather for this event is the unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
We are putting on 14 shows over four days, with guests from all over the globe! Festival venues are: Performance Works and The Redgate Revue Stage on Granville Island, as well as The Havana Theatre on Commercial Drive.
